		A pictorial-style institutional bookplate in black ink on ivory paper featuring a detailed drawing of Lyndon Carter Gray, M.D., 1820-1900, whose name and dates are inscribed on a circle framing the portrait. Above him is a hound and banners reading "Per vitam sine culpa," which translates loosely from Latin to "Through life without fault," and below is a text box which reads “This volume has been purchased for the Library of the New York Academy of Medicine from Proceeds of the Landon Carter Gray Memorial Fund.” Above the text box are an oil lamp, a skull, and a Rod of Asclepius.
