A pictographic-style bookplate in black ink on ivory paper, with a simple drawing of a shaded octagonal shape that may represent a cut gemstone. In the center of the gem in white on black is the word "hi" written in lowercase on a semi-circle, and curved around the bottom of the semi-circle is the name Déryné and the word "könyve," which means "book" in Hungarian.
