1932 / L. Trail-Eversdijk Smulders

4_5_Kayser.jpg

A pictorial-style bookplate in black ink on ivory paper featuring a drawing of an owl in academic robes perched on a row of books. "Ex libris" is printed across the spines of the books, and the name J.F. Kayser is below, flanked by two stylized figures in academic robes. Behind the owl is a circle the size of its wingspan. On the back is additional text reading "Cliché naar penteeking van Mevrouw L. Traill-Eversdijk Smulders" which loosely translates from Dutch to "pen and ink drawing by Mrs. L. Trail-Eversdijk Smulders."
