The two sides of the frame are mirrored, and feature, from the bottom a statue of Hermes an open book, an inkpot with a pen, and a globe. The books and inkpots have vine motifs around them, and each globe shows a different side of the Earth. Within this frame is a drawing of a small cabin with a willow tree growing over it. In the foreground is a cat, with a path leading from the cat to the cabin. Below is the text "Ex libris Helen Louise Taylor."
