A pictorial-style bookplate in black ink on ivory paper, with a central image of a map with a large compass over the center and a sailing ship in the lower left corner and s small flamingo in the lower right. The frame is made to look like a closed book, and the name William Edward Putnam is written in the border, with the letters in individual blocks. Additional inset text reads "La Libertad Por La Inteli Ciencia," which translates loosely from Spanish to Freedom through intelligence science." On the pages at the bottom of the book is the date 1925 and a signature that reads "WEP."
