A typographic/heraldic-style bookplate in blue ink on ivory paper. At top is the library's name, and in the center is a simple shield, The shield bears an ox, and above it is written "Civitas Oxioniensis," which translates from Latin to "City of Oxford." A banner beneath the shield reads "Fortis est veritas" which translates to from Latin to "Truth is strong." Additonal text below reads “A list of Rules may had upon application. Please return this book as soon as you have read it.”
