Collection: The Helen Pearson Bookplate Collection
A pictorial-style bookplate in black ink on ivory paper with a thick black border. The text is in ivory within the black border, and at top it reads “Veritas per na turam libros at que res hominum;” which translates loosely from Latin to "The nature of the books is to call things by means of the truth of man." At the bottom are the names Mellinger Edward Henry and Florence Stokes Henry. The image is of a window with books on the ledge. Through the window there is a cliff with a lone tree over water, with a cityscape in the background.
