There are two May Irwin quotes on the front which read "Love is blind but marriage is an eye opener," and "Before marriage, a woman is a man's ideal; after marriage it's a new deal." A handwritten note on the front reads "Cheer up, Cheeries will soon be [illegible]. Larry." The postcard is addressed to Henry Clay Barnabee, 225 Riverside Drive, New York City, and is postmarked February 22, 1906 from Boston, Massachusetts.
