Bookplate
Date Unknown / Creator Unknown
Collection: The Helen Pearson Bookplate Collection
A pictorial-style bookplate featuring a five-pointed crown above three shapes with letters in them. The upper two shapes are both rounded at the top and flat on the bottom, forming a semi-circle when viewed together, and the left-hand shape has an inward curve which makes it resemble a G. The right-hand shape could be a D with a gap on the straight section, or a reversed C, and there is a lowercase "i" within it. The lower shape is flat on the top and curves to a point, with a gap in the flat section, and the letters "ail" are in the center of the shape. It is possible that these shapes along with the letters represent the name of the bookplate's owner.
