Heraldic/Pictorial-style institutional, memorial bookplate featuring a college coat-of-arms in center with name surrounding circle rim. Additional text at bottom reads “In memory of Hubert Evans, Class of 1898; 1872-1931. Also pictured are images of a row of standing books with center one open and behind and a scale. Small circle medallions in red ink surround the seal, highlighting the various academic degrees of the remembered.

Note: Nos. 69 and 70 are accompanied by a handwritten note that reads “A.B. & A.M. 1898; Wake Forest College North Carolina. Ph.D. 1902, Univ. of Hepzeig; L.L.B. 1915 Columbia; Had this designed by a student here when I presented his books to his Alma Mater.” Also handwritten on back of both bookplates reads “Hovey Coll. Patch.”
