A heraldic-style bookplate in black ink on ivory paper featuring a coat of arms flanked by two rampant stags. The shield is divided into quarters, with the upper left and lower right bearing three roses, and the upper right and lower left bearing three crowns. The shield is topped with a helmet with a stag's head on top of it, and mantling to the left and right. Beneath is a scroll which reads "Je suis prest," which means "I am ready." Below the banner are the names Alfred Valenine and Martha W. Mott Fraser in a Gothic font.
