A pictorial-style bookplate in black ink on ivory paper with a striped border. In the center there is an oval with a portrait of a man who appears to be William Shakespeare, with a crown and dog's head topping the oval frame. Beneath this are two square frames. On the left is a portrait of a man facing left, and on the right is a full body drawing of a man with a walking stick; both are in Colonial garb. Beneath them is an open book, and a text box with the name George Saltonstall Mumford.
