A pictorial-style institutional bookplate in black ink on ivory paper featuring the school's seal, which bears an image of Athena kneeling with an olive branch and books in her arms, and the Parthenon in the distance behind her. Inset beneath her is the text "Purity and Wisdom," and around the border of the seal is "Vassar College, A.D. 1861." Above and beneath the seal is additional text reading "Library" and "Thompson Memorial Building."
